4-Hour AHA CPR/AED Training: TR-043

Course Length: 4 hours
CPR is one of the most important skills a person will ever learn. Using CPR one rescuer, alone, can save a life. The brain begins to die in four to six minutes after the heart stops. In most cases, 911 is not going to be at the victim’s side that quickly. CPR keeps the brain alive until additional help arrives. With bystander CPR being started immediately, advanced care has a much better chance of reviving an intact person.

4-Hour First Aid: TR-044

Many businesses provide First Aid training for their employees. In some cases the training is provided simply because of its importance. Other times it is provided to meet OSHA or MSHA requirements. CPR and AED training are very important. There is no question that they can save lives. However, the AED training cannot be used without having an AED on site. Many adults and children whose heart has stopped can benefit from the use of the AED. For these people, every minute that passes without receiving the proper electrical shock decreases their chance of survival by 10 percent, even with good CPR. If the shock can be delivered in the first minute after the heart stops, their survival chance is even greater. Without an AED at your workplace, that cannot happen.
